Simple Tomato garlic chutney for Idli Dosa | Tomato garlic chutney Recipe

Simple Tomato garlic chutney for Idli Dosa Tomato garlic chutney Recipe

Tomato garlic chutney is a simple side dish for breakfast or dinner, which goes very well with idli or dosa. This easy and simple Tomato garlic chutney recipe can be made with just a few ingredients and is very good to taste and can be stored in refrigerator for about two weeks.

This Tomato garlic chutney can be made in Tomato season and can be stored for a few weeks and it serves as an ideal side dish for all dishes.

Ingredients:

Tomato – 500 grams
Garlic – 10 Cloves
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp.
Mustard / Fenugreek Powder – ½ tsp.
Asafetida – ½ tsp
Mustard – ½ tsp..
Urad Dal – ¼ tsp.
Red Chilli – 1
Curry Leaves – A few
Gingelly Oil – 5 tbsp.
Salt – To taste

Method:

Heat oil in pan.
Add mustard, urad dal, asafetida, curry leaves, red chilli and crushed garlic.
When it crackles add the finely chopped tomatoes.
Sauté for a few minutes and add red chilli powder, mustard / fenugreek powder, salt and cook well.
When oil separates switch off the stove.

Note:
Tomato garlic chutney serves as an ideal side dish for all items like idli, dosa, chappathi etc,.
Allow it to cool and store in a container.
Can be stored in refrigerator and used for about 2 to 3 weeks.
Add red chilli powder according to your taste.

Asafetida Powder – 100 gms.
