Rasam is a common meals recipe which is a part of the full South Indian Meals for Lunch. There are different forms and variations in Rasam, like the Tomato Rasam, Pepper Rasam and so on. Here is the simplest Rasam Recipe, with a twist. Try out and share your views.

Ingredients
- Lentil water – 1 Cup
- Tamarind – small gooseberry size
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Tomato – 1
- Rasam Powder – 2 tsp
- Garlic – 2 pods
- Curry leaves, coriander leaves – a little
- Salt – to taste
Seasoning
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Mustard – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin, pepper – 1/4 tbsp
- Asafetida – a little
- Red chili – 2






Method:
Soak the Tamarind in required amount of water and extract it. Add Lentil water, Turmeric powder, Rasam powder, Chopped tomato, Garlic, Curry leaves, coriander leaves, and salt to the extract and then mix well. Then transfer into a pan and allow it to boil.
Then heat oil in a pan and add the ingredients given for seasoning, and add into boiling rasam. Let the rasam start to boil gently. Switch off the flame. Tasty Simple rasam is ready. Serve hot with rice for lunch.
