Palak Masiyal is a nice recipe, which can be made in minutes, in pressure cooker and can be served with rice and ghee. Palak is Pasali keerai in Tamil and it goes well with Hot Rice and Ghee. Palak Masiyal is good for kids and it is nutritious for all. Palak is otherwise Spinach and is rich in nutritional value.
Now let us see how to make Palak Masiyal or Pasali keerai masiyal
- Palak keerai – 1 bunch
- Green gram dal – ½ cup
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli – 2
- Garlic cloves – 4
- Cumin seed – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
Clean and wash the palak keerai. Chop the keerai. Peel the garlic.
Add 1 ½ cup water, green gram dal, turmeric powder, red chilli, garlic cloves and cumin seeds in the pressure cooker and cook it for two whistles.
When the steam subsides, open the cooker and add salt and mash it well. Serve with hot rice and ghee.
It goes well with Indian breads.
In the same method you can cook other greens.
If you want you can add tomato also.
