Tomato Red Chilli Chutney is a Chutney made with Tomatoes and Red Chillis. Tomato Red Chilli Chutney is very common in South India. Tomato Red Chilli Chutney is made up of a veriety of ingredients and is eaten with the breakfast dishes like dosa,upma or idli.
Tomato Red Chilli Chutney is made without coconut, but many times it is also made with coconut. Tomato Red Chilli Chutney can be made and used like Tomato Thokku. It can be stored in refrigerator and can be used for two or three days.

Now let us see the recipe of Tomato Red Chilli Chutney

Ingredients:
- Red chillies – 8
- Tomato – 1 big
- Onion – 1 medium
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind – small bit
- Mustard – 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal – 2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 2 tsp

Method:
Chop onion and tomato. Heat oil in a frying pan and add mustard, urad dal, asafoetida, red chillies, onion, tomato, salt and tamarind one by one and saute well.
Keep aside to cool. Then grind it in the mixie and serve with idli, dosa, upma and adai. Heat little oil in a pan and add mustard and curry leaves and add it to the chutney.
