Thattapayaru sundal Recipe | Karamani Sundal

Thattapayaru sundal Recipe Karamani Sundal

Thattapayaru or Karamani is also a legume. This sundal is rich in protein. It is known as black eyed peas in English.
Now let us see the recipe

Ingredients:

  • White thattapayaru – 1 cup
  • Asafoetida -1/2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Grated coconut – 3 tblsp
  • Mustard – ½ tsp
  • Urad dhal – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Red chilli – 2
  • Sundal podi – 1 tsp
  • For sundal podi:
  • Malli seed – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli -3
  • Kadalai paruppu – 1tsp
  • Dry roast in a pan and grind in a mixie coarsely.

Method:

Wash and soak thattapayaru for about 2 hrs. Pressure cook with salt and asafoetida and drain the water. Grate the coconut and take 3 tablespoon.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, urad dhal, red chilli, and curry leaves.
Then add cooked thattapayaru, grated coconut and sundal podi and mix well and serve.
