Sweet Aval is a common sweet recipe often prepared in South Indian homes as snacks for the kids as they return from school. Some make it with jaggery where as most make it with sugar.
Aval or flattened rice is the favorite of Lord Krishna. That is why kuselar presents aval to Lord Krishna when he meets him. Sweet aval is prepared during Gokulashtami celebrations. I have made sweet aval here. You can also try this easy recipe.






Ingretients:
- Aval – 1 cup
- Sugar – 3 tblsp
- Coconut – 3 tblsp
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Cashew – 1 tblsp
- Cardamom powder – 1 pinch



Method:
Clean the aval and soak for 1o to 15 minutes. Steam Cook for 10 minutes.
Add aval, sugar,cardamom powder and coconut in a bowl and mix it well when it is hot.
Heat ghee in a frying pan and fry cashews and add it to the aval.
Another method:
Soak aval . Heat ghee in a pan and add cashews. Then add coconut, aval, sugar and cardamom powder and stir well.



Note:
You can steam cook or directly add the aval.
I used red aval, so I steam cooked.
