Thattai is a common snack or savory prepared commonly in all South Indian Homes. The Thattai is famous in some sweet shops. Such shops have grown to enormous levels just by selling this Thattai.
Thattai is easy to make and can be stored for about a month or two. Inclusion of some spices and chillis make the Thattai more tasty and lovable. This will serve as a ideal snack for the kids and evening snack along with Tea or Coffee.

Ingredients:
- Raw rice flour or Idiyappam flour – 2 cups
- Fried gram flour – 1/2 cup
- Peanut – 2 tblsp
- White sesame – 2 tsp
- oil – 2 tblsp
- Salt – to taste
- Coriander – handful
- Curry leaves – few
- Greenchilly -2
- Oil – for deep fry






Method:
Powder fried gram in the mixie. Chop coriander, curry leaves and green chilly finely(use the coriander’s leafy part only). Pound the peanut coarsely.
Thattai
Heat 2 tblsp oil. Mix rice flour, chopped coriander, curry leaves, green chilli, salt, sesame, peanut and oil well. Add water little by little and knead the flour smoothly.
Make lemon size balls. Press the balls between the plastic sheet greased with oil. Press it with a flat based bowl.
Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the thattais.
