Next to chicken curry chicken soup is the only dish prepared and eaten vastly throughout the world.
Chicken soup is the most easiest chettinad chicken recipe, which you can make in seconds and pressure cook for about 10 minutes. In south India chicken soup is prepared in many ways by including different ingredients in recipe methods. The chicken rasam or kozhi rasam is also a modified version vastly in existence in south India. In five star hotels there is another modified version of chicken soup known as chicken molagutawney.
All forms of chicken soup are good for the chill weather and it serves as a natural home medicine for cold and cough.
The simplest recipe of chicken soup is as under.
- Minced chicken – 50 gms
- Onion – ½
- Green chilli – 1
- Ginger – ½ inch
- Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Coriander – for garnishing
- Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Clean the chicken. Chop garlic and onion finely. Slit green chilli.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add garlic, onion and green chilli and sauté for few minutes. Add minced chicken and sauté.
Then add 2 cups of water, turmeric powder and salt and pressure cook for one whistle.
When the steam subsides open the cooker and serve hot with pepper powder and coriander.
