Come now let us see how to make simple Red Coconut Chutney



Ingredients:
- Coconut – 1 cup
- Fried gram(pottu kadalai) – 2 tblsp
- Red chilli – 3- 4
- Garlic cloves – 2
- Tamarind – tiny bit
- Salt – to taste



- For Seasoning:
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Mustard – 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal – 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves – few



Method:
Grate the coconut. Peel the garlic. Grind coconut, red chilli, pottu kadalai, tamarind, garlic and salt in a mixie with required amount of water.
Heat oil in a Tadka pan(thalikkum karandi) and add the seasoning. When they crackle, add to ground chutney and serve with idly or dosa.
Note:
Use ginger instead of garlic.
Add few coriander leaves while grinding then the aroma will be nice.
