Peanut chutney is a very popular recipe in Andhra Pradesh which is also often made in some restaurants in Tamil Nadu. Peanut chutney is also known as Verkadalai Chutney in Tamil. It is a nice chutney recipe with little coconut and more of groundnut. Red chillies or green chillies can be added and it goes very well with idli as well as dosa. To make it more spicy garlic, as well as ginger can be also added.

Ingredients:
- Verkadalai (Pea Nut) – ½ Cup
- Coconut (Grated) – ¼ Cup
- Red Chilli – 4 or 5 Nos.
- Garlic – 3 Flakes
- Salt – To Taste
- For Tempering
- Oil – 1 Spoon
- Mustard – ½ Spoon
- Urad Dal – ¼ Spoon
- Red Chilli – 1
- Curry Leaves – A Few



Method:
Dry roast peanut in a low flame, once it pops up switch off the stove.
Allow it to cool, then rube well to remove the skin completely.
Add peanut, Coconut, Red chilli, Garlic and Salt to a mixer grinder and grind well with little water as per your required consistency.
Heat oil in a pan and add all the tempering item and allow it o pop up, once it pops up add to the chutney and mix well.
Serve with Idli or Dosa.
Note:
If you like green chillies you can also add green chilies instead of red chillies.
You can also add ginger ¼ inch if you like.
