India and Hinduism is well known for its gods and festivals. Rama is the primary god of Hinduism and he is the main god of Ramayana.
Ramanavami is the birth day of Rama, which is celebrated according to the birth star of Rama during the month of ‘Panguni’ the tamil month, which is from mid of March to mid of April. This Panguni is the month before high summer, so it is usually dry and very hot. During this celebration many food items are offered to god Rama, which are helpful in cooling the body and good for the summer heat.
During Ramanavami the important recipes offered are
Panagam
Neer Mor
Vada Pappu
Now let us see how to make them.


Ingredients:
- Curd – 1 cup
- Water – 21/2 cup
- Green Chilli – 1
- Ginger – 1/4 inch
- Coriander – few
- Curry – few
- Cumin Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Lemon – ½
- Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- To Temper:
- Oil – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard – ¼ tsp


Method:
Chop green chilli, ginger, coriander, and curry leaves finely.
Churn the curd with water.Add chopped ginger, chilli, coriander, curry leaves, roasted cumin powder, salt and asafoetida to the churned Butter milk and mix it well.
Heat one teaspoon oil in a pan and add mustard.
When it crackles switch off the stove and add it to the Neer Mor.



Note:
If you want you can grind green chilli, ginger and coriander and add.
According to your taste adjust the ingredients.
