Mochai is known as Lima beans in English. Another sundal recipe for coming Navaratri. You can buy all the legumes in advance and plan for Navaratri recipes.






Ingredients:
- Mochai (Lima Beans) – 1 cup
- Asafoetida -1/2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Grated coconut – 3 tblsp
- Mustard – ½ tsp
- Urad dal – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Red chilli – 2
- Sundal podi – 1 tsp
- For sundal podi:
- Malli seed – 2 tsp
- Red chilli -5
- Kadalai paruppu – 2 tsp (bengal gram)
- Dry roast in a pan and grind in a mixie coarsely.






Method:
Wash and soak mochai overnight. Pressure cook mochai with salt and asafoetida for 3 to 4 whistles. Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, urad dhal, red chilli, and curry leaves.
Grate the coconut and take 3 tablespoon. Then add cooked mochai, grated coconut and sundal podi.
Mix well and serve.
