Omelet or Omelette is a modern, modified form of one of World’s oldest dishes. Omelets were prepared in olden days, just to make egg dishes in a hurry. In those days, eggs were thought to be the best form of strength food. Whole eggs or egg whites were beaten and fried in a frying pan. Little Cream, Milk or water is added to produce fluffy texture. Some add baking powder to make it fluffier. Later many stuffing was also included like meat, especially ham, vegetables and some other specific combinations. Omelets were in use in the French civilization and the earliest documents about Omelets dates back to the 16th Century.
When Napoleon Boneapart travelled and conquered the Europe, he had the opportunity to stay a night in a small town in France, during that time he tasted the first omelet. He was so moved by the taste, the next day he ordered the village people to produce omelet for all his army men.
Since then omelets were known to the World and in 1997 the World’s largest Omelet using 1,60,000 eggs was produced in Yokohama in Japan. Later this record was broken by making an omelet, which weighed 2,950 Kilos.
Masala Omelet is a modified version suitable to the South Indian taste and culture. It includes some onions, tomatoes, green chillies and pepper according to the taste of the South India.






Ingredients:
- Egg -3
- Onion(medium) – 1
- Tomato (small) – 1
- Green chilli – 1
- Coriander – 2 tblsp
- Milk – 2 tblsp
- Red chilli powd – ¼ teaspoon
- Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala – ¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder – 2 pinch
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – as required



Method:
Chop onion, tomato, green chilli and coriander finely.
Add egg, milk, red chilli powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl and mix well with a hand mixer. Then add chopped veggies and mix thoroughly.
Heat tawa in the gas stove and spread the oil evenly with a ladle. Then spread egg mixture evenly on the tawa and sprinkle little oil. Turn and cook both sides well.
Serve hot, with bread and tomato ketch up.

Note:
If you want the omelet half cooked, you can turn the omelet and take immediately.
If you like carrot, capsicum, you can also add them finely chopped.
For paleo you can use olive oil .
