Local black juice grapes are extinct now a days. But I saw one juice shop near mylapore tank sell these grapes regularly in little quantity. I bought immediately and made four recipes out of it. They were grape popsicle, grape granita, fresh grape juice and grape syrup.
I made grapes jam last year using these grapes but I forgot to post the recipe .
Now let us see how to make grape granita






Ingredients:
- Black grapes – 1 cup
- Water – 1 cup
- Sugar – ¼ cup
- Mint leaves – few for garnishing






Method:
Wash the grapes. Blend the grapes in a blender. Filter the juice and add water and sugar and stir till sugar dissolves. Add this juice in a freezer safe container and freeze it. After 3 hours you can take out and stir it with a fork and again freeze it for overnight or 8 hours. Take it out scrap it with a fork. Take the scrapped ice in a bowl and serve. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.



Note:
Add sugar according to the sourness of grapes.
If the granita is not set you can add extra ¼ cup of water and mix well and freeze it.
