Diwali Legiyam is a very good digestive medicine . I usually Plan to try every year but somehow it will get missed . This year I tried . came out well.
Let us see how to make

Ingredients:
- Coriander – 2 tablsp
- Omam – 2 tablsp
- Pepper – 2 tablsp
- Cumin – 1 tablsp
- Turmeric – ½ inch
- Sukku – ½ inch
- Sitharathai – ½ inch
- Kandathippili – 8 pieces
- Arisi thippili – 8 pieces
- Cardamom – 2
- Jaggery – 1 cup
- Ghee – 4 tablsp
- Oil – 1 tablsp



Method:
Pound sukku, turmeric, sitharathai, kandathippili and arisithippili in pestle and mortar. Soak all the ingredients in water for overnight. Grind it nicely in the mixie. Measure the ground paste and take same amout of jaggery. Add jaggery and water in the pan and boil till it dissolves. Drain the jaggery syrup. Add jiggery syrup and ground paste in a pan and cook like halwa. Add ghee and oil inbetween. Cook till the legiyam leaves the sides of the pan.



Note:
You can make legiyam with only kitchen ingredient and omit sitharathai, kandathippli and arisithippili.
Legiyam making is as same as halwa making.
Proportion of oil and ghee is according to your wish . If you like ghee you can add ghee more.
