A square meals in Tamil Nadu or South India will consist of Koottu, Poriyal, Sambhar, Rasam, Butter Milk etc,.
The most common recipe in Poriyal category is the Beans Poriyal. It is easy to make and good to taste. It gives all the goodness of Beans. In this same manner Carrot can be also made as Poriyal.
Now let us see how to make Beans Poriyal
Ingredients
- Beans – 100 grams
- Carrot – 100 grams
- Onion – 1
- Red chilli – 2
- Grated coconut – 2 tablespoon
- Salt – To taste
- Oil – 2 teaspoon
- Mustard – 1/4 teaspoon
- Urad dhal – 1/4 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – few






Method
Chop the beans and carrot into thin rounds and then cook with required amount of salt. Chop onion finely. Heat oil in a pan then add mustard, urad dhal, curry leaves, red chilli then add finely chopped onion and sauté for few minutes. Then add cooked beans, carrot and grated coconut and mix well and serve.
