Whenever I buy beetroot I make beetroot vadai and beetroot kola only. My son does not like other dishes in beetroot.






Ingredients:
- Beetroot – 200 gms
- Channa dal – ¾ cup
- Tuvar dal – ¼ cup
- Red chilli – 8
- Fennel seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Onion – 1
- Oil – to fry






Method:
Clean both dal and soak it for about 30 minutes. Grind channa dal, tuvar dal, red chilli, fennel seed and salt in a mixie coarsely (Don’t add water, beetroot have more water content). Chop onion finely. Peel beetroot and grate finely. Mix ground dal, grated beetroot and onion in a bowl and mix it well. Make small vadas in this dough. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the vadas. Fry both the sides well. Serve hot with rice.



Note:
Don’t add water while grinding or else you cannot make vada.
You can add finely chopped coriander also.
If you want vada more spicy, you can add 2 flakes of garlic and ½ inch ginger while grinding.
